Conférence – Gert Melville, "The Innovational Power of Monastic Life in the Middle Ages"

15 October: Opening of the Medieval Seminar Series 2013-2014 of the Henri Pirenne Institute for Medieval Studies (UGent).

Prof. Dr. Gert Melville of FOVOG (Research Centre for Comparative History of Religious Orders) at the TU Dresden will deliver the first lecture of this year’s Medieval Seminar Series: The Innovational Power of Monastic Life in the Middle Ages.

The event will take place in the Klooster Augustijnen and starts at 5 pm with an introduction and book presentation by Prof. Steven Vanderputten, who is affiliated with FOVOG as Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Awardee of the Humboldt Foundation.

The seminar will be followed by a reception at 6.30 pm, for which we ask you to register your attendance by 9 October at the latest.
