You are cordially invited to the following event, which marks the recent work of the University of Reading Graduate Centre for Medieval Studies (GCMS) on the university’s Eales Hours, a fifteenth-century book of hours, made in Paris.

Attendance is free. Location Reading’s London Road campus is about 15 minutes’ walk from the mainline station.
Speakers :
Laurent Ungeheuer (Paris) is currently working on the Eales Hours, of the Special Collections at the University of Reading, under the supervision of Michel Pastoureau. He will speak about the manuscript’s artist, active c.1420-50, ‘Le Maître de la Légende Dorée de Munich’.
Simone Ventura, currently a Marie Curie Fellow at QMUL – ‘Visualising Boccaccio in late medieval France : The Story of Ghismonda’
Emma Croker (Bristol) – ‘The other apostle, St Paul in illustrated copies of the Book of Revelation made in England, c.1245-c.1400’
Irène Fabry-Tehranchi (Reading GCMS) – ‘The Maritime Adventures of King Arthur’
