Summary:

The Department of History is seeking to appoint to a fixed-term Teaching Associate in Medieval History.

The post-holder will deliver teaching and carry out assessment and evaluation of modules at all undergraduate levels.

Specifically the successful candidate will be required to take full responsibility for delivery of a level 3 special subject: HST3115/3116 King Alfred the Great – Between Vikings and Franks; a level 2 document option: HST2023 1066 And All That; and a level 2 option: HST204 Warriors, Saints and Heroes in Early Medieval Britain; supervise dissertations arising from the specialsubject; contribute to other teaching as necessary; mark coursework and examinations as required.

You will have a good honours degree and will have completed the requirements for a PhD (or have equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area. You will also have excellent communication skills and organisational skills with a proven teaching

ability at undergraduate level and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues in teaching and administration endeavour.

The post is fixed-term with a start date of 1 September 2014 and an end date of 30 June 2015.
