Applications are invited for a Departmental Lecturership in Medieval History, tenable from 1 October 2015 for a fixed-term of 2 years. The appointment will be associated with a Lecturership at St John’s College.

Applications are invited from scholars with active research and teaching interests in the history of Britain and/or continental Europe in the period c.1300 to 1500. The lecturer will be required to give tutorials, lectures and classes at both undergraduate and graduate level, to engage in examining and administrative work, to take responsibility for administrative and pastoral duties for St John’s College, including participation in the undergraduate admissions process, and to engage in independent research in Medieval History.

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in a relevant field, or show evidence that a doctorate is imminently expected. She/He will have a record of successful teaching and of research publication within the field, the ability to teach and lecture at an appropriate level in an interesting and engaging manner for both undergraduate and graduate students, and a willingness to undertake examining and administrative duties.
