Le Centre Michel de Boüard-CRAHAM (UMR 6273, Université de Caen Basse-Normandie/CNRS) lance un carnet de recherche sur les mondes normands médiévaux.

Le carnet est destiné principalement à la diffusion de l’information ou à engager le débat d’idées, qui peut plus tard entrer sous une forme davantage finalisée dans une revue. Un volet important sera « la recherche qui se fait », en ouvrant le carnet aux appels à projets, à la littérature grise, aux rapports d’étape, aux comptes rendus (séminaires, colloques, journées d’études, de thèses, d’ouvrages), présentation d’outils de recherche, annuaire des thèses.

MNM se veut ainsi le support d’une communauté et un outil de « réseautage ». Un travail important sera réalisé sur les outils favorisant une mise en réseau. Il est prévu également d’établir un partenariat avec des institutions (centres de recherche, musées…) engagées dans le réseau. Ce carnet sera lié à la revue électronique Tabularia. Sources écrites de la Normandie médiévale (http://www.unicaen.fr/mrsh/craham/revue/tabularia/), mais sur un périmètre élargi et avec une finalité différente d’une revue. Il est édité sur la plate-forme hypotheses.org et dispose d’un numéro ISSN.

Espace de dialogue et d’information, le carnet MNM permet de publier des contributions ensuite validées (ou non) par le comité éditorial et la rédaction. Ces billets peuvent être rédigés en français et/ou en anglais, mais d’autres langues sont admises. Il est possible d’intégrer des notes de bas de page aux billets, ainsi que des illustrations. Les billets publiés sont indexés, et référencés sur le web. Ils peuvent être cités et disposent d’une adresse pérenne. Ces billets peuvent être modifiés par leurs auteurs et être ensuite développés sous forme d’articles pour des revues scientifiques. Ils permettent ainsi à leurs auteurs de faire connaître l’objet de leurs recherches, et d’apporter à celles-ci une plus grande visibilité.

Le carnet MNM est ouvert aux membres des institutions de recherche (laboratoires, universités) et patrimoniales (musées, archives, bibliothèques), ainsi qu’aux étudiants (masters et doctorats).

Pour devenir membre, il vous suffit d’envoyer une demande d’adhésion en remplissant le formulaire prévu à cet effet et disponible sur le site dans la rubrique Annuaire et partenaires. Un code d’accès au carnet sera envoyé aux membres souhaitant rédiger des billets. Ces billets devront toutefois être validés par la rédaction et le comité scientifique avant d’être mis en ligne.

The Centre Michel de Boüard-CRAHAM (UMR 6273, Université de Caen Basse-Normandie/CNRS) is proposing to launch an online international interdisciplinary research network focused on the Norman worlds in the Middle Ages.

The primary aim of this network is to facilitate the spread of information, as well as to encourage debate in the field, with the hope that such debate might eventually lead to the publication of new research in academic journals. It will look primarily to promote ongoing research in this area, acting as a forum for the presentation of unpublished work, as well as progress updates, reviews and reports of seminars, conferences, workshops, vivas and published work, and will also be home to various research tools and a directory of theses. An important focus of the project will be the development of scholarly networks and it is planned that formal partnerships will be established between those institutions involved (research centers, museums…). Such partnerships will largely be open to institutions located outside of France to whom I might ask you, if necessary, to relay information. The network will be linked to the online journal Tabularia. As a space for dialogue and information, the MNM network will allow members to submit contributions, which will then be validated (or not) by the editorial committee. Prospective contributions, which, if necessary, can include both footnotes and illustrations, should be written in either French or English, although those in other languages will also be accepted. Those contributions accepted for publication on the network will then be indexed and assigned a permanent online address, allowing for them to be referenced. It will also be possible for contributors to edit their posts in the future and, as a result, for contributions to be developed into articles suitable for submission to academic journals. Contributions will therefore allow their authors to publicize their work on a much wider level.

The MNM network is open to members of any research or heritage institution (universities, research centres/groups, museums, archives, libraries), as well as to all postgraduate students (masters, PhD).

To become a member, simply fill out the member directory profile form on the website (directory and partners). An access code can be issued to those members wishing to submit material for publication on the network, although all such material will be vetted by the editorial board and the scientific committee before being put online.
