Job Description

Applications are invited for a Fixed Term, Full Time Lectureship in Medieval Art and Architecture in the Department of History of Art.

You will teach a specialised BA History of Art final year option module of your own devising, related to your area of research. You will also contribute to team taught BA and MA modules, including a block of sessions on the second year undergraduate module ‘Art and Architecture in Europe 1250-1400’. You will contribute to the supervision of BA and MA dissertations, and will participate appropriately in departmental administration.

The BA option module runs for 20 sessions over the Autumn and Spring terms with one revision session taught in the Summer term. As part of your application, you should submit a title and a 300 word outline of your proposed module.

Candidate Requirements

You should have a good first degree and ideally have completed or be near to completing a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area. Teaching experience at undergraduate level is highly desirable. Administrative experience and evidence of published research are desirable.

Further Information

Salary: Grade 7 which is £35,343 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.

This post is full-time, 35 hours per week and fixed term for 9 months. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 3 years.
