The Department of History at the School of Culture and Society invites applications for the position of assistant or associate professor in Danish/European medieval history 700-1500 AD.

If an assistant professor is appointed, this will be a three-year probationary position and subject to appropriate funding a subsequent associate professorship in the same subject area will be announced in open competition. If an associate professor is appointed, the position will be a permanent, full-time position.

The position is available from 1 August 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position

For both the associate professorship and the assistant professorship we are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated researcher and teacher who is willing and able to contribute to the department in the field of medieval history 700-1500 with particular emphasis on the history of Denmark and the Nordic countries.

Applicants must possess the qualifications and ambition needed to actively develop research topics within medieval history. It is important that the applicant can and will enter into collaboration with the other researchers at the Department of History as well as cross-disciplinary collaboration with colleagues within the broader framework of the School of Culture and Society and the Faculty of Arts in order to strengthen both research and teaching in medieval history.
