Postdoctoral Researcher for the ERC-funded project Post-REALM (m/f/d)
(100,00 %, pay grade 13 TV-L)

starting 01.10.2023.

The ERC-funded project Post-REALM (Post-National Reconceptions of European Literary History: A Mixed-Method Approach to a Late Medieval Text Tradition) is headed by PI Prof. Miriam Edlich-Muth and will combine literary analysis with manuscript studies and digital analysis to gain new insights into the spread and adaptation of the medieval romance Floire et Blancheflor across linguistic and cultural boundaries.

The position is fixed-term in accordance with the regulations for fixed-term third-party funded research positions stipulated in § 2 Abs. 2 of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG) with a possibility of extension.

Your responsibilities:

• Research in the field of European medieval literature and/or manuscript culture within the framework of the Post-REALM project
• Preparing publications in the field of European medieval literature and/or manuscript culture within the framework of the Post-REALM project
• attending and organising conferences within the framework of the Post-REALM project
• Contributing to the administration of the Post-REALM project

Our requirements:

• a completed university education at M.Sc. / M.A. / Diploma / Magister level relating to medieval European literature and/or manuscript culture
• a completed PhD in a field relating to medieval European literature and/or manuscript culture
• Knowledge of at least three of the following languages: Middle English, Old French, Old Norse, Middle High German, Middle Low German, Middle Dutch, medieval Italian, Medieval Spanish

The pay scale grouping will be, depending on the personal qualification of the applicant, up to pay grade 13 TV-L.

In principle, the employment can also take place part-time, if no compelling official reasons are opposed in an individual case.
