BELLICA. Guerre, histoire et sociétés est une revue d’histoire, interuniversitaire et francophone, ouverte sur les sciences humaines et sociales. Elle se donne pour objet l’étude de la guerre et du fait militaire dans toutes leurs amplitudes spatiotemporelles et thématiques. Bellica paraît deux fois par an, en ligne exclusivement, avec pour ambition de contribuer à la diffusion du savoir scientifique dans le monde académique et jusqu’au cœur de la société. Au travers de problématiques et d’approches pluridisciplinaires, Bellica propose des perspectives innovantes et globales sur un fait social majeur, dont l’étude est indispensable pour comprendre la vie, l’organisation et l’évolution des sociétés humaines du passé et d’aujourd’hui à l’échelle du monde.

On behalf of the entire editorial team, we are delighted to announce the birth of the journal Bellica. Guerre, histoire et sociétés (Bellica: War, History, and Society).

BELLICA. Guerre, histoire et sociétés is a French-language, inter-university history journal, open to the human and social sciences. Its object of study is war in all its spatial, temporal, and thematic dimensions. Bellica is published twice a year, exclusively online, with the goal of contributing to the dissemination of scientific knowledge within the academic world and to the wider public. By taking up multidisciplinary issues and approaches, Bellica offers innovative and global perspectives on a major social phenomenon, war, the study of which is essential to understanding the human experience, the organization and evolution of the world’s societies, both past and present.

The first issue will be available from late December 2024 on the journal’s website (https://revue-bellica.uqam.ca). You can find the contents below.
