The MARY4ALL project issues a Call for Papers for the International Conference and Webinar Storytelling Europe’s history in the age of AI: Harnessing digital technologies for effective in situ cultural mediation.
The Webinar will be held online May 19 2026 and the Conference will take place in Grenada October 21-22, 2026.

The Cooperation Network of the Routes of Emperor Charles V, in collaboration with the University of Granada, the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife and the Yuste Foundation, announces the Call for Papers for the international conference and webinar “Storytelling Europe’s history in the age of AI: Harnessing digital technologies for effective in situ cultural mediation”
The initiative is organised within the framework of the European cooperation project MARY4ALL – Music and Arts in the Renaissance: Female Patronage Reactivated through Digital Technologies, and in connection with the commemorations of the 500th anniversary of the wedding of Charles V and Isabella of Portugal and their stay in Granada.
The event will include:
An Online webinar: 19 May 2026, from 10h00 to 13h00.
An International conference: 21–22 October 2026, at the Palace of Charles V in the Alhambra (Granada, Spain)
The organisers invite researchers and professionals working in fields such as cultural heritage, history, culture, museums, cultural tourism, sustainability, digital technologies, innovation and artificial intelligence applied to culture, as well as other disciplines that may contribute to the topics described in the call for proposals, to submit proposals.
Topics:
1. Artificial intelligence and cultural heritage: applications, opportunities, challenges and threats
2. Digital narratives and public history: how to tell the story of the past through emerging technologies
3. Museums and digital cultural tourism: immersive experiences, augmented and virtual reality
4. Ethics and sustainability in the use of AI for culture
5. New models of cultural mediation in the digital age
Best practices and case studies of digital initiatives already implemented in the in situ heritage mediation field in Europe are welcome.
The deadline for submitting proposals is 10 April 2026.
