This is a fixed term post until 31 December 2017.
The post holder will undertake research on women’s experience of legal system(s) operating in late Medieval Britain and explore a variety of legal records in order to investigate the extent to which women were able to defend their interests in medieval courts, and whether this differed according to ethnicity, place, time, or life cycle stage etc.
You should have a degree in Medieval History or equivalent together with the requisite language and palaeographic skills to read and interpret records produced in medieval Britain and Ireland. You should also have the ability to actively engage in and contribute to writing and publishing 3* or 4* research papers, particularly for refereed journals.
