The Department of « Cultures History Religions » of the University of Rome « La Sapienza » will soon issue a public call for applications concerning a public competiions with qualifications and interview assesments, for the award of n. 3 PostDoc Positions for research activities within the ERC funded Project NOTAE  – NOT A writtEn word but graphic symbols. NOTAE: An evidence-based reconstruction of another written world in pragmatic literacy from Late Antiquity to early medieval Europe [ERC ADG 2017 N° 786572]**.

Positions:

  1. 1. PostDoc with experience of researching (or with solid scientific preparation) in the field of documentary papyri (or in the subject of juridical papirology).
  2. PostDoc with experience of researching (or with solid preparation) in the subject of palaeography and diplomatics of the greek documentary sources of the Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages / or with experience of historical research based on the greek documentary sources of the Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages.
  3. PostDoc : with experience of researching (or with solid preparation) in the subject of palaeography and diplomatics of the latin documentary sources of the Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages / or with experience of historical research based on the latin documentary sources of the Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages

All Applicants will be expected to have a good command of English. Further language skills requested: German reading and comprehension; French reading and comprehension; Spanish reading and comprehension; Italian reading and comprehension (for no-Italian applicants).

  • Duration of the grant: 2 years, renewal if any.
  • The gross amount of the Research Grant is € 32.000 per year (Positions 1 and 2) € 28.250 (Position 3), inclusive of all the charges to be borne by recipient of the Grant.
  • Nationaliy of Applicants: citizens of EU-states and citizens of non-EU states.
  • It will be possible for applicants residing abroad to take the interview by videoconference over Skype (though webcam): they will be requested to provide their own registered contact/name (ID), along with a telephone number at which they can definitely be reached on the day set for the interview.
