Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
Research in the frame of a 3-year project developed by the candidate on the topic ‘means of authentication in the field of pragmatic writing’. The project should examine relations between practices of authentication and writing, and relate to at least one of the focusses of research field C Creating Originals in the Cluster of Excellence ‘Understanding Written Artefacts’. The position requires participation in research colloquia, lecture series and workshops, as well as active engagement in the Cluster’s research activities.
A university degree in a relevant field plus doctorate. Preferred is a degree in history (not restricted to European history) or a related field. Good knowledge of the history of written artefacts in one or more regional cultures is required. Fluent in English, written and spoken.
We welcome applications that show a clear focus on the study of written artefacts in the field of pragmatic writing. Candidates must apply with a project proposal (in English) of max. 5 pages (plus bibliography), including a brief summary, state of the art, the main research question, a detailed project description (including a sketch of the source corpus), a 3-year schedule and a budget plan.
The successful candidate will become a member of the Cluster and can apply for additional funding.
