This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 23 months.
The Department of History seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Medieval History, tenable for 23 months full-time from 1 September 2018.
The post-holder will specialize in medieval history and contribute to departmental teaching in the subject. In 2018/9, s/he will convene and deliver entry level teaching on Historical Skills, Sources and Approaches, 1-semester upper level undergraduate modules on ‘The Sociology of the Middle Ages’ and ‘The First English Empire? The Peoples of Britain and Ireland, 1050-1350’, and a 2-semester upper level undergraduate module on ‘Aristocratic Society and Culture in Medieval Europe 900-1300.’ S/he will also contribute to the MA in Medieval History (potentially through the supervision of student dissertations) and lecture on the core Y1 Medieval History modules. In addition, the post-holder will have research time to build their publication profile, and is expected to contribute to the administration and pastoral provision of the Department of History. Duties may change slightly in 2019/20.

The selection process will consist of a short presentation and interview, and is scheduled to take place on the morning of Wednesday, 25 April 2018.
