Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer salary scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy [€34,813 to €84,556 per annum], appointment will be made no higher than point 8 [i.e. €49,422].

Summary of Posts
The Department of History, Trinity College Dublin, is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Medieval History for two years. This post is intended to provide cover, from August 2020, for the current post-holder who has teaching buy-out. The post-holder will be expected to maintain research and teaching interests in medieval Irish and/or British history, with demonstrable expertise and relevant publications within the period 1000—1500. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the delivery of modules at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, including supervision of BA dissertations, as well as the Medieval Studies MPhil programme. Within the undergraduate History programme, the holder of the post will contribute to the delivery of a module on the ‘Hundred Years War’, as well as the Department’s skills modules across the Fresher cycle (‘Doing History’, ‘Imagining History’ and ‘Interpreting History’). At Sophister level, they will coordinate a special subject arising from their research interests. Supervision of appropriate undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations will also be expected. They will also undertake other teaching and administrative duties at the direction of the Head of Department.
